Tullamore Dew whisky is named after Daniel E. Williams – its creator. Daniel E. Williams rose on his own from a stable worker at the distillery to its owner. He brought electricity and motorised vehicles to the town of Tullamore and created a sophisticated whisky. Tullamore Distillery opened its doors in 1829 in the heart of the town of Tullamore.
The determination of Daniel Williams was inherited by his grandson Desmond Williams. He followed his grandfather's footsteps and presented the first Irish blended whisky.
