Free Restaurant Feedback Form

A free customer feedback form for your restaurant. Diners rate their visit and write in their own language; you read it in yours, privately, before it turns into a public review. See below what you would read.

Four things a diner might write, each in a different language. Pick one to see what you would read.

What your diner writes

Tap a comment

What you read

Translated for you

The paella was cold and it took a long time to bring us the bill.

What the diner wrote

La paella estaba fría y tardaron mucho en traernos la cuenta.

A rating this low sends you an email straight away, so you can fix it before the diner leaves.

This is an example. On your menu, diners write their own, and it goes only to you.

Put this on your menu, free

Private feedback, before it becomes a Google review

A diner who is unhappy usually says so in one of two places, to nobody or to the whole internet. This form gives them a third place, on the table, while they are still there, and it goes to you alone. Think of it as a comment card that works in every language.

Nothing a diner writes here is public. There is no star average on your menu and no thread to answer. You read it, you fix it, and when it is good news you can ask for the Google review.

In their language, read in yours

Tourists write in French, in Japanese, in Arabic. You read it in your own language, with the original underneath whenever you want to check a word.

The translation uses the same AI that translates your menu. Most feedback tools show you the text as it was written and leave the rest to you. AI Menu Translation.

Google reviews, on your terms and in the open

After a diner sends feedback, the thank-you page offers them a button to leave a Google review. By default it is shown to every diner, whatever the rating. That is what we recommend.

Sending only the happy diners to Google and the unhappy ones to a private form is called review gating. Google's review policy prohibits it, and the US Federal Trade Commission has warned that it can be deceptive. We never switch it on for you.

The option to show the Google button only from a minimum rating exists, because it is your restaurant and your decision. Turning it on shows this warning, and it cannot be saved until you confirm that you understand the risk. It is never on by default.

How it works

Four steps, about five minutes

1

Turn it on

Create a free account and open the Feedback tab. One tap turns it on. The question "How was it?" appears at the end of your digital menu.

2

Put the QR code where diners are

Print the QR code of your menu, or use the direct link of the form on receipts, stickers and your Instagram bio.

3

Diners answer in a minute

A star rating, an optional comment and an optional email address. No app, no account, in the language of their phone.

4

You read it, and get alerted

Every message arrives in your inbox translated. A low rating sends you an email, with a daily limit so a bad night does not flood your mailbox.

Feedback about a single dish and about a single table are planned, along with categories and a weekly summary. They are not in this version, and this page will say so until they are.

Frequently asked questions

Is the restaurant feedback form really free?
Yes. Receiving feedback is free, with no cap on the number of responses, and it is open to every account.
Do my diners need to install an app or create an account?
No. They scan your QR code, or open the link, and the form opens in the language of their phone. They rate, they can write a comment, and they can leave an email address if they want to.
Can I read feedback written in a language I do not speak?
Yes. Each comment is translated into the language of your restaurant, and the original stays underneath in case you want to check it.
Does this replace my Google reviews?
No. It sits in front of them. Feedback is private, and after sending it the diner is offered a button to leave a Google review. You paste your Google review link once in the settings.
Is it allowed to send only happy diners to Google?
Not under Google's review policy, and the US Federal Trade Commission has warned that review gating can be deceptive. That is why the button is shown to every diner by default. A minimum-rating mode exists as your own decision, behind an explicit warning.
What happens when someone leaves a bad rating?
It shows up marked in your inbox, and you get an email. The emails have a daily limit, so a bad night does not fill your mailbox, and the rest wait in the inbox.
Who in my team can read the feedback?
Users with full access always can. Users who only edit the menu can read it only if a full-access user allows it in the team settings, so a complaint about a waiter does not reach the waiter.
What do you do with what my diners write?
Nothing beyond showing it to you and translating it. We do not store the diner's IP address, and the diner is told what happens to their comment before sending it.
Can it replace the paper comment card?
Yes, and it works in every language. Put the QR code of your menu, or the direct link of the form, on the table or the receipt, and diners answer on their phone. You do not type anything in afterwards.
Do I need a digital menu to use it?
It works best on top of one, because the question appears where diners are already reading. The form also has its own link for receipts and stickers.
