The Aberlour distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming, who had 10 years of experience at Dailuaine. At first glance, 'A'Bunadh' sounds strange, but the word actually comes from Gaelic and means origin. Aberlour A'Bunadh was created to honor the long history of the distillery and its founder, using authentic 19th-century distillation methods – non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength – 60% abv or higher. The whiskey is without an age statement, but it blends various 5 to 25-year-old whiskies and ages in oloroso sherry casks.
