The Aberlour distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming, who had 10 years of experience at Dailuaine. At first glance, 'A'Bunadh' sounds strange, but the word actually comes from Gaelic and means 'origin'. Aberlour A'Bunadh is created to honor the long history of the distillery and its founder, using authentic 19th-century distillation methods – non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength – 60% abv or more. The whisky is a no-age-statement, but it blends various 5 to 25-year-old whiskies and matures in Oloroso sherry casks.
Numerous awards recognize this offering - Silver Medal, Best Single Malt Scotch whiskies No Age Statement (NAS), World Whiskies Awards 2019. Aberlour A'Bunadh is produced in limited batches and the batch number is marked on the label of each bottle.
