Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera is a unique single malt, aged in three different types of casks - from Portuguese sherry, American bourbon, and new, yet unused ones, before being gathered in the handmade Solera vats.
The Solera system is characterized by refilling the cask over the years of aging, thus maintaining the perfect quality of the whisky (the system is used for making sherry and brandy in Spain).
Color - Golden with a reddish tint
Aroma - Heather honey, bitter fruits and vanilla.
Taste - Silky smooth texture, unfolding layers of sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger. Full body, rich in flavors.
Finish - Candied fruits, raisins, and Christmas pudding. The oak takes over at the end.
