Ouzo Matarelli owes its specific taste and characteristic aroma to the aromatic anise from Lisvori on the island of Lesbos, which is used in the traditional distillation process.

Each bottle of ouzo bears the distinctive mark of the Matarelli Distillery - a sprig of anise leaves tied with a blue ribbon – a symbol of the anise harvest along the seacoast. It is the result of the endless patience of the farmers and an expression of their in-depth knowledge of the proper sowing and cultivation of anise.
