The GlenAllachie is a relatively young distillery. It was established in 1967 with the primary goal of producing malt used in blends.
It was designed by William Delme-Evans, who also stands behind the creation of Jura and Tullibardine. The people behind GlenAllachie are by no means accidental – the distillery brings together Trisha Savage, who worked for Burn Stewart and BenRiach, Graham Stevenson, former Managing Director of Inver House Distillery, and of course – Billy Walker and GlenAllachie Distillers Company. The 12-year-old GlenAllachie is created precisely by this stellar company and has been on the market since 2018. It has passed through three different casks – Oloroso Sherry, Pedro Ximenez, and Virgin Oak, personally selected by Billy Walker. This combination yields a pleasant spiciness and plenty of oak aromas.
Color- Red ruby.
Aroma- Vanilla notes with hazelnut and perceptible nuances of oak.
Taste- Nuances of fruit pie and vanilla. Chocolate.
Finish- Strong finish with oak, hazelnut, and a touch of citrus.
