€7,50
Woodford Reserve with an alcohol content of 43.2% (86.4 Proof) is the standard international version of their iconic bourbon (Distiller’s Select).
An interesting fact is that in the US, the same bourbon is usually bottled at 45.2% (90.4 Proof). The 43.2% version is more common in Europe and duty-free shops, but the profile and quality remain high.
Unlike many other bourbons, Woodford Reserve uses a unique production process:
Unlike many other bourbons, Woodford Reserve uses a unique production process:
Triple distillation: Traditional copper pot stills are used, which is rare for American whiskey and gives the spirit greater purity and elegance.
Mash Bill: Contains 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. The rye gives it a light spiciness without being too aggressive.
This is an exceptionally well-balanced bourbon with a "soft" character.
Rich aroma of heavy caramel, vanilla and honey, intertwined with notes of dried fruits (apricot, raisins) and a fine leather scent.

The taste is smooth and complex. You'll notice a balance between the sweetness of butterscotch and spices like cinnamon and clove, complemented by toasted nuts and a light oak aftertaste.
The finish is long, peppery and warm, with a slightly creamy feel.

Woodford Reserve is the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby horse race. Traditionally, the "Mint Julep" cocktail, made precisely with this whiskey, is served there.
